Men's portraits are more difficult than women's because they should look more masculine. So how does a photographer actually convey masculinity through a photograph? Well, throughout my time as a photographer, I have learned that men are an entirely new animal when it comes to providing images to my clients.

My photography style with men is somewhat more candid, and involves careful posing to draw out more masculine features. My services are affordable, and start at $150.

Event photography services are provided for between 3 and 12 hours. Payment arrangements can be made, and I do lower the cost when advertising is done on my behalf by the client, or if they assist in promoting business for me. I do not provide event photography for free to businesses, with the exception of limited non-profits. However, I seek these out on my own in most cases, and request that you please do not inquire about free photography services for events unless heavy advertising is provided on my behalf as a trade.

Event photography is due upfront, or in two payments - one at the time of booking and the second is due within 48 hours of the event.

I do not put a time limit on sessions, as my goal instead is to deliver quality images to you regardless of how long it takes. Therefore all of my pricing is based upon number of images to be delivered. This is important, especially with children, who may not be cooperative and may take a bit of time to warm up. I do it this way also because I deliver a specific number of images.

For short sessions, I recommend setting aside approximately 45 minutes to an hour for your photos, and for full sessions I recommend setting aside about 1.5 to 2 hours for your session to allow enough time for a location change and any outfit changes you may desire.

We are (un)fortunate enough to live in a world where online dating makes for a sea of dating candidates for men and women. Perhaps online dating is even more of a challenge for straight men who report that out of every 100 messages they send to prospective dates they are lucky to receive just one back. With webcam models running amok and using dating profiles and dating apps as their primary marketing platform, it's no wonder it's such a struggle. Furthermore, the ratio of men to women on dating apps is typically imbalanced where there are more men than women using online dating apps. While finding women on apps in Fort Collins seems to be typical, there also seems to be an issue getting them to message back.

Ahhh! Autumn is already here, and it's about time to start preparing for the winter. This is a popular time for family and senior portraits with the beautiful color changes in foliage, and urban changes like the hanging of the lights downtown. Be prepared for shifts between nice weather and extreme weather, and to look for ways to accommodate your photoshoot in different settings with indoor and outdoor locations, or both! It's not uncommon for Fort Collins photographers to experience an extreme boost in business during this time, especially for those who specialize in family, childrens and headshot photography. Believe me, I have been in the business long enough to witness the panic experienced by clients as they realize fall is closing in on them.

Winter time can be intimidating for photographers who shoot on location and their clients too! Because of the snow, cold and the limited options available it can be a major challenge when it comes to selecting places to shoot in Fort Collins. First and foremost: stop freaking out about snow or cold weather. It is possible to take fantastic photographs and still have a good time. Simply dress for the weather, and work together as client and photographer to find a great location or two. Rather than being afraid of the snow, hope for it! The snow can add an extra layer of excitement to your pictures that weren't there before. Winter isn't as scary as it sounds, especially when clients want something a little bit different than what everyone else is using.

Bear in mind, this is only ten subjects, although I am aware there may be some more exciting possibilities like drones, robotics, chess club and other super cool interests.

Not long ago I was fortunate enough to be asked by a colleague to help him update his business portraits and professional headshots. He asked if I'd be down for a bit of an adventure throughout this small but busy town of Fort Collins, and of course the answer was, "Hell yeah! Sign me up."

The goal was to hit as many murals as possible, and it really only took us about an hour. I'm sure that by now if you live in Fort Collins you have already seen most of the murals that are throughout the main streets of old town, and the giant hippie mural outside of...
